Itinerary

1: Raipur – Kawardha

On arrival at Raipur Apt / Railway station meet ands assist by our representative and directly proceed to Kawardha – the former Princely State. On arrival transfer to palace. Afternoon familiarisation with Palace Kawardha and nearby cultural sites, including the captivating Bhoramdeo Temple complex. Return to the Palace at sunset and enjoy the cultural evening of Chattisgarhi dance with dinner with Royal family.

2: Kawardha

This morning after breakfast, the Palace guide will accompany you on an introduction to the secrets of Kawardha’s little-known natural and tribal world. Experience the gentle and friendly Baiga people, the principal indigenous forest tribe. Enjoy picnic lunch with them. An evening return to Palace Kawardha precedes a royal family dinner and overnight.

3: Kawardha – Raipur – Kanker

Morning after breakfast drive to Kanker (250 K.ms). The countryside virgin and untouched tribal landscape is very fascinating feel like being in paradise. Enroute lunch at Raipur. On arrival check in to Kanker Palace. Later explore the verdant surrounding of the palace. Eveninf watch the folk music organized by the Kanker palace. Dinner and overnight.

4: Kanker – Kondagoan – Narayanpur – Kanker

After an leisurely breakfast at the Palace, the Bastar tribal experience begins. Drive to south of Kanker with guide to climb the forested Keshkal Ghat which marks the border of Bastar. Visit the local market which is a great opportunity to meet the local people. At Kondagaon and Narayanpur discover some of Bastar’s finest handicrafts, and the people who make them. Lunch will be a picnic in the deep green sal forests. An early evening dance by youthful members of Bastar’s unique ‘ghotul’ dormitory system completes an unforgettable day before a star – lit return to Kanker and a late dinner.

5: Kankar – Jagdalpur

After breakfast, drive to Jagdalpur (120 K.ms), Bastar’s main town and former capital, three hours away. Checking in to the hotel . Afternoon visit historical Jagdalpur and the Anthropological Museum is completed by a sunset idyll at the Chitrakote waterfall- the Niagara-like horseshoe waterfall created by Bastar’s Indravati River . Visit some of the local Bison – Horn Maria tribe, renowned for their spectacular ceremonials dancing. You will be entertained by a performance of the tribal people, before returning to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

6: Jagdalpur – Kangar Valley National Park – Jagdalpur

An early breakfast, visti to the rich forests of the Kanger Valley National Park, the enchanting Tirathgarh waterfall and the extraordinary stalactite and stalagmite caves. Kanger retains the original intensity of the forests that once covered this whole region, and you will picnic in the natural habitat of leopard, tiger, sambhar, bison and the Bastar Hill Myna. Here too are forest tribal people in their natural habitat. Enroute explore some of Jagdalpur’s unique handicrafts which comprise from wood craft to terracotta, tribal weaving to bhatti- chitra (traditional wall paintings)stone carving to Bell metalcraft, iron craft and Bamboo craft. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

7: Jagdalpur – Raipur

After a leisurely breakfast and visit the bustling markets of Jagdalpur. Later continue your drive to Raipur (220 K.ms). Enroute take a diversion of 23 K.msoff the main road to Rajim – which is known as Varanasi of Chhatisgarh. Overnight at hotel.

8: Raipur departure

Morning after breakfast transfer to Apt / Railway station to connect Flt / train for onward journey.
