Itinerary

1: Arrive Mumbai

Arrive Mumbai International Airport. Meet and assist by our represenatative and transfer to hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at hotel.

2: Mumbai city tour

Morning after breakfast, leave for for a city sight seeing of the commercial capital of India including the Gateway of India, is situated at Apollo Bunder – built to commemorate the visit of King George V and Queen Mary to India in 1911. Excursion on motorized boats across the Arabian Sea to the Elephanta Caves, which house several, sculptures and images sacred to the Hindu faith. Of special mention is the sculpture of the Holy Trinity of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva – the Creator, Preserver and the Destroyer.

Later in the afternoon visit the Hanging Gardens: The giant Old woman’s shoe in the Kamala Nehru Park is very popular with children to play in. One gets a panoramic view of parts of the city from these parks situated at the height of Malabar Hill which provide lovely views over the Arabian Sea.

3: Mumbai – Bangalore

Morning flight to Bangalore . On arrival you are met and escorted to your hotel. Afternoon a half-day tour of Bangalore City visiting Lalbagh Botanical Gardens, Vidhana Soudha, Cubbon Park & Museums, Nandi (Bull) Temple, Fort & Tipu Sultan’s Palace. Overnight at hotel.

4: Bangalore – Mysore

Morning drive to Mysore en route visiting Srirangapatnam – The fortress was once the capital of Hyder Ali and Tipu Sultan. Inside the fortress walls there is a mosque and the Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu.

Drive on and check into your hotel. Afternoon a half-day tour of Mysore City visiting Mysore Palace, Jayachamarajendra Art Gallery, Chamundi Hill, etc. Overnight at hotel.

5: Mysore – Chennai

Morning is at leisure. Afternoon board train to Chennai. On arrival you are met and escorted to your hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at hotel.

6: Chennai

Morning a half-day tour of Chennai City visiting Fort St. George, St. Mary’s Church, Kapaleeswarar Temple, etc. Rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight at hotel.

7: Chennai – Mamallapuram

Morning drive to Mamallapuram en route visiting Kanchipuram -located about 76km southwest of Chennai, this temple town is reputed to be the ‘City of a Thousand Temples’ and is one of the seven holiest cities of India.

Drive on and check into your hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure to enjoy the beach and explore the temples of Mamallapuram – earlier known as Mahabalipuram, this coastal town, located 58km from Chennai was the second capital and flourishing port of the Pallava kings of Kanchipuram. The sculptures here show scenes of everyday life – women milking buffaloes, pompous city dignitaries, young girls posing at street corners or swinging their hips in artful come-ons, in complete contrast to other carvings throughout the state that depict mostly gods and goddesses. Overnight at hotel.

8: Mamallapuram – Pondicherry

Morning drive to Pondicherry and check into your hotel. Later explore this French flavored quaint town -known in Tamil as Puducherry, this former French colony settled in the early 18th century is a charming Indian town with a few enduring pockets of French culture. Together with the other former French colonies of Karaikal (also in Tamil Nadu), Mahe (in Kerala) and Yanam (in Andhra Pradesh), it now forms the Union Territory of Pondicherry. It is situated on the Coromandel Coast in an enclave in Tamil Nadu’s Arcot district.

9: Pondicherry – Trichy

Morning drive to Trichy en route visiting Chidambaram and Thanjavur. Drive on and check into hotel. Overnight at hotel.

10: Trichy

Morning a half-day tour of Trichy City visiting Rock Fort, Srirangam, Churches, etc.. Tiruchirappalli or Trichy whatever you call it, is situated on the banks of the Cauvery River . It is the fourth largest city in the State and was a citadel of the early Cholas. The Pallavas, Pandyas and Cholas all vied with each other to retain control over this citadel.

Rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight at hotel.

11: Trichy – Madurai

Morning drive to Madurai en route visiting the Srirangam Temple – located about 5km from the city, this is one of the most important Hindu pilgrim centers. It is known for the gigantic Sri Ranganatha Temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Temple inscriptions date its existence from the 10th century. Many dynasties have had a hand in its construction, including the Cheras, Pandyas, Cholas, and Hoysalas, Vijayanagars and Nayaks – and work still continues. At 60 hectares, the temple complex with its seven concentric walled sections and 21 gopurams (spires) is probably the largest in India . Rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight at hotel.

12: Madurai – Kodaikanal

Morning a half-day tour of Madurai City visiting Sri Meenakshi Sundereswarar Temple, Mariamman Teppakulam, Museums, etc. Afternoon drive to Kodaikanal and check into your hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight at hotel.

13: Kodaikanal

Morning a half-day tour of Kodaikanal. It is the only hill station in India set up by the Americans, though they were soon joined by the British. American missionaries established a school for European children here in the mid-1840’s, the legacy of which is the Kodaikanal International School. It is surrounded by wooded slopes, waterfalls and precipitous rocky outcrops.

Rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight at hotel.

14: Kodaikanal – Periyar

Morning drive to Periyar and check into your hotel. Later enjoy a Boat Ride in the Periyar Lake to view the wildlife. It is home to bison, antelopes, sambar, wild boar, monkeys, langur and a variety of birds, elephants and of course the tiger. Periyar is also known for the best quality Indian spices and the whole atmosphere is full with the aroma of high quality spices.Overnight at hotel.

15: Periyar

Morning and Evening Boat Ride in the Lake to view wildlife. Overnight at hotel.

16: Periyar – Cochin

Morning drive to Cochin and check into hotel. Afternoon a half-day tour of Cochin City visiting Fort Cochin, Mattancherry Palace, Parikshith Thampuram Museum, etc. Overnight at hotel.

17: Cochin

Morning enjoy a Boat Cruise on the Backwaters of this coastal town. Evening enjoy a Kathakali Dance show. Overnight at hotel.

18: Cochin – Goa

Today after breakfast transfer to airport to board the flight for Goa. On arrival check in to hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight at hotel.

19: Goa

Morning a half-day tour of Old Goa. Rest of the day is at leisure to relax on the beaches. Overnight at hotel. Old Goa , once a thriving commercial and residential centre and now totally abandoned, only the Churches and Cathedrals remain standing as the memory of earlier days. Se Cathedral is the is the largest Church in Asia and the Basilica of Bom Jesus, houses the relics of St. Francis Xavier, making it an international pilgrim centre. Overnight at hotel.

20: Goa – Mumbai

Today fly to Mumbai. On arrival you are met and escorted to your hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight at hotel.

21: Depart Mumbai

Today you are transferred to the airport to board your flight for onward journey.
